So after a great end to the term (seriously it was one of the best nights of my life!) I watched the hunger games with Gloria on Friday! It was a pretty good movie, I definitely prefer Gale to Peeta (solely superficial reasons). We were catching up, talking about life as girls do when I realised how different our perspectives our now. It's been a little over a year since I've moved schools, and so much has happened! Basically anything that came up, we had contrasting opinions. Of course I respect her opinions and she's still one of my closest friends, but I just found it interesting how different we've become in our separate environments.
On Saturday after eating brunch out at a small cafe with the family, I came home changed back into my pjs and watched movies. Despite my ban on romantic comedies, I watched What's your number, Our Idiot Brother, A Dangerous Method and Young Adult - I liked all of them, surprisingly enough!
What's your number is just your normal chick flick girl meets boy blah blah blah. At the beginning of the film, the main character is reading a magazine which says if you've slept with over 20 men you'll never get married. Which is a tad far fetched but you know.. And she's on 19 at this stage so she tries to get back with all her exes so she won't go over 20.
Then I thought to myself - would you be okay sleeping with someone who'd had sex with 20 different people? 20 is a lot of people... Nearly an entire class :L
Our Idiot Brother is a feel good comedy with Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and Zooey Deschanel.
A Dangerous Method is a biographical drama about Sigmund Freud, Sabina Spielrein and Carl Jung. I actually found it interesting - they're considered the 'founders' of psychoanalysis. I thought Keira Knightley's acting was pretty amazing.
Young Adult was okay, not that funny for me, it just made me dwell on what would actually make me happy.. I mean in all honesty, right now I think "if I'm thinner, can buy whatever I want and have a stable job I'll be content with my life" but that's essentially the main character and she's far from happy, she's kinda a psycho bitch.
Was talking about Christianity with Kylie yesterday. I definitely believe God exists, I just don't understand why we have to live life as He wants us to. I mean - what have you done for me? All this "don't worship idols other than me" seems kinda hypocritical to me, and the more I think about it, the more angry I get.
God this was a long post about nothing much...
I had the best dream on Thursday night and I seriously hope I have it again LOL
Happy holidays everyone! :)
